My wife uses a bluetooth earpiece so that she can talk on her cell phone without requiring to use her hands. It sure looks funny at first – to see a person jabbering to an empty desk or a blank wall, but heh – this is technology – and I see more and more hands free accessories like the bluetooth earpiece all the time.

I mentioned above – besides for convenience – one of the main reasons for moving towards hands free cell phones is because it has been proven to impair a drivers ability while on the road. It makes sense to me – even though much of my driving – even without a phone in my hand – is pretty much on autopilot, the actions of dialing and holding the phone to your ear with one hand – leaves just another single hand to drive the car.
Many countries around the world have made it illegal to drive with a cell phone period. Others have banned using cell phones while driving unless a hands free system is used. In fact – in the United States – these issues are being handled on a state by state basis – so be sure to be aware of the law if you are doing interstate driving across the USA.
